A photographic overview of rooms in the White House features the East Room with its classical decor that dates from a 1902 renovation. Because the East Room is used for many different functions, it is sparsely furnished.
This replica of the Oval Office duplicates the actual office at 7/8th scale. The office looks exactly as it did during Johnson's presidency, including the desk he used beginning in his Senate days through the White House years.
Johnson kept abreast of the news using a teletype machine and three screens simultaneously.
